Tightrope.

First and foremost, I have gratefully missed an incredible window of season to be blogging with all these snow days the crazy winter that has me cooped up inside my house! However,  I have a recent blog, and I had the opportunity to write it and have it published by the church I attend. The link for it is,

I encourage you to head over and check it out, and follow the other blogs on it too! :)

Do you ever feel like you're walking on a tightrope just carefully staying online, trying not to look down in fear that you might fall, or if you do fall you're going to die? The key is this: always look forward. Ok, so I've never walked a tightrope, so I can't tell you thats THE key. I'm sure at some point looking down at the rope is necessary. :) My point is this-- if we are constantly looking down, back, and to the sides of us, we are going to miss out on a truly amazing moment!! Not only should we be keeping our eyes forward, but even more so, when our eyes our fixed on God there is so much more we see. I want to share a couple scriptures with you.

"Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won't need to compare yourself to anyone else." -Galatians 6:4 NLT

"I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,[d] but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." Philippians 3:12-14

.God is not a God of Comparison.
Daily I find myself looking at people around me, admiring their talents and what they do. I catch myself often comparing my life to them and wondering, why didn't I get that ability, why can't I sound like that when I sing, work, teach, etc. Its a battle that we all find ourselves in. I can't say I have mastered the art of confidence to say the least. However, God is not a God of comparison!! He made me, and you who we are for a specific reason. He gave you your gift, and myself my gift for a reason. We cannot walk around comparing ourselves to people. It will only bring us down. Run forward! Don't look to the sides, and don't look back. I mean, we know what happened in Genesis when Lots wife looked back.. she turned into a pillar of salt. Not to say you will. BUT :) I'm not saying reflecting on the past is bad. What I am saying is this-- Don't live in your past. We serve an amazing God who is ever faithful and forgiving, and gives us GRACE, so to that we can move on. In this Holy season with Easter coming up really reflect what it means. What God did for us, through his son, Jesus Christ. Run YOUR race, receive that price. Listen for God. Seek God.

Just like walking on the water--He kept his eyes set on Jesus. If he looked down into the water, he would fall. Keep your eyes and your ways fixed on Jesus. You will fall--but when you do, trust God to help you back up. He will. Dont give up hope for your future. Change that mindset, and claim victory.

Am I worthy?
